Key Responsibilities
1️⃣ Windows Server Management
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Windows Server OS (2016/2019/2022).
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, DFS, and domain security configurations.
- Perform server hardening, patching, and OS-level troubleshooting.
2️⃣ System Performance & Monitoring
- Monitor server health, resource utilization, event logs, and performance tuning.
- Utilize monitoring tools such as SCOM, SolarWinds, Nagios, or ManageEngine.
- Identify root causes and resolve system performance bottlenecks.
3️⃣ Virtualization & Cloud
- Administer VMware Hyper-V environments, including VM provisioning and migration.
- Support hybrid cloud infrastructures (Azure AD, M365, Endpoint Manager).
- Manage backups, snapshots, and disaster recovery for virtual workloads.
4️⃣ Security & Compliance
- Implement and maintain security policies, endpoint protection, and firewalls.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and remediation.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, data governance, and industry standards.
5️⃣ Backup & Disaster Recovery
- Configure and maintain backup solutions (Veeam, Commvault, Windows Backup).
- Develop and test disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity plans.
- Quickly restore systems during outages or failures.
6️⃣ Storage & File Services
- Manage SAN/NAS storage technologies, shared drives, and permissions.
- Optimize file services, NTFS permissions, and access management.
7️⃣ Automation & Scripting
- Create and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate tasks and workflows.
- Support configuration management and infrastructure automation tools.
8️⃣ Collaboration & Escalations
- Act as escalation point for L1/L2 support teams resolving complex issues.
- Work with cross-functional teams (Network, Security, Cloud, Apps).
- Prepare documentation, SOPs, change records, and architecture diagrams.
9️⃣ Patch & Change Management
- Lead Windows updates and deployment using WSUS, SCCM/MECM.
- Conduct impact analysis, risk mitigation, and post-change validation.
🔟 Project Leadership
- Deliver server migration, consolidation, and upgrade projects.
- Evaluate new technologies and propose improvements for IT infrastructure.
